NEOPRENE NECK SEAL

The neck seal is made of 3 mm thick neoprene. Neoprene is covered with thick nylon on the inside and finished with smooth rubber (smoothskin) on the outside, which has a positive effect on the comfort of use and maintaining warmth. The neoprene ruff is more durable than the latex one. The main advantages are greater resistance to mechanical damage, including: nail scratches. Latex „ages” quickly under the influence of heat and sunlight. After some time, we can observe the effect of „frying” the rubber.

Thanks to modern ruff sewing technology, neoprene has a compact structure, is resistant to stretching, and water does not penetrate the joint.

Additionally, the connection is reinforced with a flexible neoprene tape with glue. This prevents, among other things, mechanical damage to the seam threads.

It is recommended to glue the neck seal to the dry suit fabric with an overlap of approximately 25 mm. Use glue available in specialized sports stores and recommended for neoprene.
It is worth pressing the joint connecting the ruff with the suit with a roller or roller to remove air bubbles or wrinkles. The resulting adhesive layer will be the optimal binder. The polymer adhesive joint becomes mechanically resistant after min. 24 hours.

The neck seal is turned up with the rubber side towards the neck, hence the range is increased by – from 0.5 cm to 3.5 cm.
For comfort of use and better fit, the neck measurements do not have the shape of a regular cylinder.
